From the ground up, every piece of
this extraordinary structure was put together by hand; not
only this, but the construction
took place in Sable Valley Sanctuary with no power available,
and with much finesse and skill by a group of local artisans.
All furnishings, from the bathroom basin to the coat hangars
to the lights, were hand made.
Add
to this the location - not only of the rain forest and
the valley, but in the far distance the Tanzanian mountains
and far off Zanzibar. An island not seen, but certainly
felt. All of this to remind you, if you needed reminding
at all, that these verdant hills and the sweeping valleys
and plains for miles around were the backdrop to the opulence
of the Sultan era, and its Slave routes deep into Africa.
Here, you can listen to the silence.
A completeness.
Some guest’s
comments, unedited, from our guest book :-
20th May – Linda and Peter – Norfolk
England
After seeing the breath taking panoramic views when
approaching the Ndovu Bonde Tree House – nothing prepares
you for the “Romantic setting” that awaits you.
Truly an experience not to be missed.
26th May – Brian
and Linda – Dublin Ireland – Honeymoon
This Tree House has given us a night to remember, when the sun sets the place
awakens with the sounds of the African Forest and with the 1st class comfort
its truly the place to be.
28th May – Johan
en Eveline – Dieren – Netherlands
This must be the most romantic place on earth. Relaxing in the Jacuzzi with
some drinks in the tree house in the middle of nowhere, nothing can beat that
! Seeing the sunset and rise (when you get up early from the really nice bed)
is breathtaking. And… lets give 3 honks for the staff and their wonderful
service.
29th May – Dave
and Debs – Essex – England – wedding
anniversary
No words are appropriate for the Beauty of this place. Truly a Kenyan experience
at its finest. Thank you for giving us this wonderful memory. This just deepens
our love for Kenya.
1st June – Colin
and Carol – Hullbridge England – Birthday
Wow ! ! What a privilege to spend some time here … truly fantastic in
every way. In the words of Karen Blixen (Out of Africa)… “In the
highlands you woke up in the morning and thought, 'Here I am, where I ought
to be, because here I belong' …”
2nd June – Carol
and Alex – Glasgow – Scotland
What a place, lots of peace, quiet and tranquility, views are amazing, food
superb, nothing quite like it. The romance of it all, truly a gem in time and
we will have very many memories of the night in the Tree House.
3rd June – Pete
and Sue – Southanpton – England
What special memories this evening will hold for us both, sitting in this magical
place soaking up the ambience of it all. Truly a wonderful experience.
4th June – Graeme
and Louise – Glasgow – Scotland
This was the night of our holiday in Kenya and it was a truly fantastic way
to finish it! Everything was just perfect – the view, the food, and the
service were all amazing. Watching the sun go down on the African Wilderness
while enjoying a G&T in the Jacuzzi was a unique and unforgettable experience.
